Corey Title Insurance Agency, Inc. was started in October of 2003 by David Elias Corey to provide title insurance and escrow services to real estate professionals, attorneys and their clients, lenders, and individuals. Our employees and management have over 30 years of experience in the title industry. Realizing the need for an independent title insurance agency in Northern Macomb County, specifically in Romeo, David decided to open up his new office in downtown Romeo in November of 2004.

Our philosophy at Corey Title Insurance Agency, Inc. is to be an integral part of the community by providing our customers the best title and escrow services available. We do this by:

	Providing Education: One of the most important parts of our role in the closing process is to educate purchasers, sellers, Realtors®, lenders, and the public at large about what happens at closing and what to expect not only at the closing, but after the closing as well. We offer monthly seminars on title insurance and the closing process. When you close at Corey Title, you will know the importance of the documents you signed, and what steps, if any, you need to take after closing.
	Maintaining High Ethical Standards: In order to avoid pre-closing and post closing problems, Corey Title maintains a set of ethical standards so that the transaction does not become jeopardized. You can always find a title agency out there willing to cut the corners in order to get the deal done by overlooking matters that need to be resolved prior to closing. However, Corey Title brings the knowledge, skill, and determination to complete the transaction without compromising its standards and the standards of its customers.
	Using the latest technology: The use of email, our paperless closing systems, and computerized research allows us to provide professional closings and title insurance policies to our customers. More importantly, it streamlines the process by allowing last minute changes and provides access 24 hours a day via the Internet to our customers' files and closing documents.

 

Arthur Corey
Arthur is the owner and President of Corey Title Insurance Agency, Inc. Arthur grew up in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended Albion College for his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree. Arthur moved to the Detroit Metropolitan area in 1990. Arthur then went to law school at the Detroit College of Law (now the Michigan State University School of Law) and graduated in January 1995 with the American Jurisprudence Award in Corporations and Securities Law. He worked for Clinton Valley Title Company for 15 years in many capacities, including recording clerk, abstractor, escrow and general accounting, document preparation, settlement agent and manager. Arthur is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Real Property Section and the Probate and Estate Planning Section). He also lectures for the MSU Extension Program for first time home buyers.

Janice Alt
Janice is the office manager at Corey Title. She has 22 years of experience in the title insurance profession, having worked for a major underwriter and title agencies as well. Her experience has been in nearly every aspect of title agency practice, including scheduling and preparing documents for closing, mortgage preparation and loan disbursements, preparing commitments and title policies, recording, accounting, construction loan disbursement and management, and personnel and general office management. Janice's extensive experience and knowledge make her a valuable employee, and she can be relied on to answer any questions or concerns that our customers or home sellers and buyers may have. Janice also has experience as a legal assistant, and she is familiar with commercial transaction documentation.

Joy Hill
Joy is the receptionist and administrative assistant at Corey Title. She worked at another title agency for approximately 15 years, and also has experience in the banking and credit union industries. Joy's knowledge and experience range from accounting to commitment typing and recording processing. Joy's knowledge, experience and organizational skills make her an exceptional addition to Corey Title's team.
